I love castles. I love touring around Scotland. While these hobbies are both wholesome and family friendly, there are some practicalities to consider…
I wanted to write a blog that serves as both a record of our castling journey, but which also provides some constructive advice for other families.
Topics covered in each blog will include location, ease of access, and whether the site is child and dog-friendly. While the history of these sites is endlessly fascinating, writing about it is not my forte. I will endeavour, however, to link to websites with accurate historical information.
All photos are my own… My family often try and intrude upon them.
Leah: Me (Castle-aficionado, grumpy exterior contradicts a passion for being outside in Scotland)
Scott: Husband (amiable co-castler, sat-navigator, rocks a beard)
Darling-daughter 1 (teenager, photo-bomber extraordinaire, wears impossibly skinny jeans)
Darling-daughter 2 (primary-schooler, maelstrom of emotions, ridiculously photogenic)
Jezebel: Chihuahua cross, bundle of conflict, catdog
Asher: Whippet, bundle of love, batdog
The website template suggests an inspirational quotation here….
